Custom Software Development
We develop custom software specifically to your requirements.
Organisations often find the idea of custom software development daunting. However, this shouldn’t be the case. In fact, engaging Lapis to develop custom software to address a specific business problem is much simpler than struggling with an outdated system, or compromising functionality by choosing an off-the-shelf package that doesn’t really meet all of your requirements or integrate properly with your other systems.
In many instances, a moderate investment in custom software development can provide a significant return on investment, both in operational efficiency and in unlocking opportunities for growth and improved productivity.
Lapis is often engaged to develop custom software to solve a specific problem. For example, linking systems, upgrading legacy systems, providing a new user interface, or improving the exchange of data between systems.
A common request is to digitise a paper-based system, which consequently has a direct positive impact on productivity.
As with all our projects, applying our expertise in; solution design, process improvement, digitisation, custom software and cloud migration means that we create positive change to help you achieve your goals and objectives.
We work collaboratively with both IT Departments and Operations to develop and deliver effective software.
We take care of testing and implementation and follow an agreed development path and timeline to bring your project to fruition on time and budget. We work with whole systems or with targeted upgrades.
Our approach emphasises engaging carefully with our clients and taking responsibility for delivery so that you can focus on your business while we focus on what we do best.
The depth of experience in our team and the robustness of our approach means that our clients have complete peace of mind that our expertise and proven agile process, coupled with fixed budgets, deliver the right outcome.
All of our custom software is carefully scoped, designed, developed, tested, implemented, and supported. Plus we provide full documentation to accompany the software as well as training for your in-house team.
The dumping of illegal waste is a serious problem with negative consequences for people and the environment. Illegal waste can create fire hazards, harm the health of individuals, and damage the ecosystem. It contaminates the environment, poisons people, fauna, and flora, and releases toxins into soil, groundwater and waterways. It is unsightly and unsafe.
NSW Environmental Protection Agency engaged Lapis to assist in addressing the problem of illegal waste dumping by creating a powerful yet easy-to-use community reporting tool to enable the EPA to collect data on illegal dumping, analyse patterns and take action.
Lapis determined that taking a community-based approach to data collection would have multi-layered benefits within the solution required by NSW EPA.
During the scope and solution development phases, the community-based approach became central to; providing the body of data required by NSW EPA, enabling data aggregation and analysis, expanding the reach and effectiveness of the EPA by engaging the community as a key stakeholder and empowering the community to assist NSW EPA to take action.
Lapis successfully synthesised the system-based requirements with the development of an easy-to-use web-based mobile app for use by the community with a powerful back-end database and reporting tools for use by NSW EPA that enabled effective incident and case management as well as fact-based decision-making.
Ridonline has a comprehensive ‘management portal that allows the EPA and related authorities to manage the reported issues with full case management and workflow capabilities. The management mode also has comprehensive reporting and admin features.
